Tap the add button and choose a type. For books, you can either scan a barcode with your camera or search by title — Logline checks both Google Books and Open Library and merges the results, so a book missing from one source usually still turns up. For movies and TV shows, search by title to pull in posters, details, and related-title suggestions.
If a book still doesn't turn up by name, try searching by its ISBN instead (printed near the barcode on the back cover) — that's often more reliable than a title search for less common editions.
Open any book's detail page to edit when you started or finished it — tap the date and pick a new one. Every item (book, movie, or TV show) also has a Notes field below its rating, for anything you'd like to remember: quotes, thoughts, or how you felt about it. Notes save automatically as you type.
The Suggested row on the Home tab shows items already in your library that you haven't started yet, in a random order that reshuffles each time you open the app — a lightweight way to get a nudge toward what to read or watch next without re-deciding every time.
The Reports tab charts what you've finished over time, your average time spent per book, movie, or show, and total pages read for books. Achievements unlock automatically as your library grows — check the achievements section for the current milestones for books, movies, and TV shows.
Since Logline stores everything on your device and has no account or server, keeping your data backed up is entirely in your hands. There are a couple of ways to do it, from Settings:
Turn on "Automatic iCloud Backup" to keep a standing backup file in your own iCloud Drive that updates automatically as your library changes, a few seconds after each change settles.
"Export Backup" creates a local backup file and hands it to iOS's share sheet, so you can save it to Files, send it by AirDrop, email it to yourself, or store it anywhere else you'd like. "Import Backup" reads a backup file back into the app. Useful for backups outside iCloud, or moving your library between devices.
Connect your Plex account from Settings → Plex to automatically mark movies and TV episodes in your Logline library as watched, based on what you've already watched on your Plex server(s). Turn on each server you'd like to sync from, then tap Sync Now, or turn on daily automatic sync.
If a title doesn't sync as watched, make sure it's already in your Logline library first — sync updates watched status for matching titles, it doesn't add new ones to your library on its own.
